There are nine such Bearings in the game, and this guide contains the locations of all of them.įirst, the basics. To get easiest access to Smithing Stones, you'll need to collect Bell Bearings. It's embarrassing to say, but this is something I only found out I could do about 50 hours into the game. But to expedite the leveling up process, it's much easier to just buy them. Smithing Stones can be found out in the world and dropped from a few enemies. To upgrade your weapons, you offer these stones (plus some runes) to Master Blacksmith Hewg at Roundtable Hold. Smithing stones are what you use to level up your weapons, be they blades, staffs, shields or spears. And to get powerful weapons, you'll need Smithing Stones. If you're going to make it through this adventure, you'll need powerful weapons. That won't surprise anyone who's played through a preview FromSoftware game, but even that won't prepare you properly for all the "You Died" title screens you're bound to see. TL'DR Good game, well-executed but a dissatisfying ending.Elden Ring is hard. I could spit out more but they're all just suggestions off the top of my head as I write this. An ending where the wife turns out to be very susceptible to Pavlov training and is actually being trained despite the ruse, maybe the husband could find out earlier about her ploy and uses the knowledge to his advantage in some way, or even perhaps another twist that the bell was magical after all somehow and the husband now realizes he has REAL power. I could see several different endings based on how you train the wife and maybe adding new items. You could try dropping some heavier hints about the ture nature of the bell, maybe even make a slight meta-game within the game to solve as you train the wife.Īnother idea is having multiple major endings. I could think of so many ways to fix this, the low hanging fruit is telling you to just change the ending completely but I know you've already put so much work into this one and I don't necessarily think you have to in order to make it work. Maybe some could read some foreshadowing here and there about the ending to come, but it's not anywhere enough and doesn't set the player up for the ending they get. The game is very clearly advertised as a mind control/alteration trainer and holds true all the way until the end. Both are good, definitely don't belong together though. If I had to try and summarize it with an analogy then it's not dissimilar to putting a hot fudge sundae in a hamburger. I'll state upfront that the ending is not a bad one by itself, but it does not belong in this game. Hi, just got finished with the game and I've got somethings to say. The twist honestly wouldn't be an issue if the game hadn't been entirely about the bell. A slut trainer vs a relationship builder. I'm not being a bastard here but the ending makes the game a confliction of concepts. At no point is there enough of a story to make me care about their marriage beyond that. I wasn't playing the game to fix their marriage, I was doing it for the Pavlov mind control. There's just not enough of a story outside of the porn/training parts to make the ending anything more than a clever but disappointing reveal. And yes, the "twist" has hints throughout the gameplay when looking back, it turns the entire premise of the game on its head and makes the entire thing rather.pointless, really. The game is "sold" as a mind control/slut-maker. I will say that while I agree that the twist is exceptionally written and the reason behind it makes sense, it massively undermines the entire premise of the game. The game is solid and enjoyable even if it begins to peter out towards the end gameplay-wise.
